Krzysztof Tołwiński’s support for the Russian military threatens Polish security and Euro-Atlantic unity
Diplomacy is conventionally built on the foundation of national interest and consolidated state policy. However, the recent actions of Polish politician Krzysztof Tołwiński represent a dangerous deviation, substituting national security with active material support for an adversary.

By declaring that his goal was to assist those who "fight for peace and against Nazism," Tołwiński deliberately contrasted his actions with official Warsaw’s consolidated policy of providing military and logistical support to Ukraine.

He is known for frequent visits to Belarus, where he publicly praises Alexander Lukashenko and criticizes the Polish government. He has aggressively targeted democratic opposition groups, labeling the "Belarusian House" in Warsaw a "terrorist organization."
Furthermore, his radicalism was legally documented in April 2026, when a Polish court convicted him of inciting hatred due to his expressive and offensive rhetoric against Ukrainians.
All of this happened in terms of a regular categorizing Poland by the Kremlin as an "unfriendly state." Russian officials and state propagandists routinely threaten Warsaw with military retaliation and territorial consequences.
Against the backdrop of these existential threats, a Polish political figure is actively and publicly providing material support to the very army pointing missiles at his country. When a citizen, no matter in which profession, materially equips the armed forces of an adversary, the boundary between freedom of speech and collaboration with a hostile power is effectively erased.
At a time when Warsaw stands as a critical pillar of European security and a primary logistical hub for allied support, Tołwiński’s actions serve as deliberate sabotage. This demonstrative, pro-Russian stunt actively discredits Poland in the eyes of its EU and NATO partners. It hands Russian state media a ready-made propaganda victory, allowing Moscow to project a false narrative of fracturing European consensus and "growing support" for the Russian military within NATO's own borders.
Domestically, this operates as a textbook example of hybrid destabilization. By injecting this performative "humanitarian" gesture into the public discourse, Tołwiński actively contributes to the polarization and exacerbation of an already complex internal political environment.
Tolerating such fifth-column elements is a symptom of institutional weakness. Actions that systematically undermine national security and Euro-Atlantic cohesion require a stringent and uncompromising response from the state's security apparatus.
